The National Executive Bureau decided to expel the former PNL president, Ludovic Orban.

The exclusion proposal adopted at the National Political Bureau (BEX) meeting must also be approved by the National Council, according to the PNL statute, reports Digi24. There were 31 votes in favour, 2 against and 2 abstentions.

“I am the victim of a devastating gang that decided to exclude me from the PNL. I am honoured, because this clearly proves that I have nothing to do with all the decisions taken by Klaus Iohannis and the demolition gang (…) Today’s decision makes me a free man to represent Romanians who need loyal people, dedicated to serving the interest public. I am free to build a political force, together with all the liberal colleagues who have honor, common sense, and respect, a force that will give Romania a national, liberal project”, Orban declared at the end of the meeting. Ludovic Orban was accused of violating the party’s status and code of ethics, according to Digi24.

“You should have been excluded for a long time”, Dan Vîlceanu would have told him. In his turn, the vice-president of PNL Florin Roman reproached Ludovic Orban that he had agreements with the PSD to become prime minister and that now he criticises the alliance with the social democrats.
