European assistance to Romanian hospitals and medical facilities under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has picked up speed.
On Monday, 350 oxygen concentrators arrived from the Netherlands, in addition to the 200 already delivered.
“Today, through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, another 350 oxygen concentrators arrived in Romania from the Netherlands, in addition to the 200 already delivered. This is a concrete example of European solidarity”, said Ramona Chiriac, Head of the European Commission Representation in Romania.
The Polish government will send a medical mission to Romania to help Bucharest in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic owing to a worsening medical situation in the country, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki announced.
A medical team from Denmark and another from Poland have arrived in Bucharest this week to help Romanian doctors treat the increasing number of COVID-19 patients.
Over the past three weeks, nine countries have offered assistance to Romania via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, according to the European Commission.
