Romanian Prime Minister Florin Cîțu won the leadership election of his ruling Liberal Party (PNL) party congress on 25 September — a vote by many seen as further reducing the chances of reuniting the fractured centrist coalition government that collapsed earlier in September, reports RFE/RL.
The vote for the leadership of the Liberal Party, and particularly the rivalry between the current and former PM, Ludovic Orban, has dominated the public agenda for months and stalled policymaking.
