PM Florin Cîțu on Tuesday will face a hostile Parliament. PSD, USR-PLUS and AUR announced they will vote for the motion of no confidence.
The social democratic PSD has 157 MPs, the extreme nationalist AUR – 43, while reformist USR-PLUS has eighty senators and deputies.
The three parties have in total 280 votes, which means that the Cîțu government has a very high chance of being dismissed. If there are no “desertions”, the government falls on Tuesday, in which case the liberals will not propose another prime minister in Cotroceni, said Florin Cîțu, according to Euractiv. He thinks it is up to the PSD to nominate a prime minister, with the support of USR-PLUS and AUR. However, PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu would like a government of technocrats.
