Green certificate must be a passport to access: Turcan

Digital corona certificate

The interim Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Raluca Turcan, told Digi24 on Tuesday evening that there is “a huge need to enhance the green certificate” and that it should be a “passport to access to work” in public institutions, reports G4Media.

“I have always opted for measures proposed by specialists. Therefore, there will be a meeting at the Cotroceni Palace tomorrow, convened by the President, in which specialists will discuss measures that the government will impose in the next period. We have a huge need to enhance the green certificate. I believe that in public institutions the green certificate must be a passport for access to work. Telework can be a much more used option where it is possible. Reducing interactions and travel I think may be welcome in this context.

“And as Minister of Labour, I tried, through a GEO [emergency ordinance], that in the centres for the elderly, children and people with disabilities, employees who refuse vaccination to bear the costs of testing with their own money, not to be tested with DSP money. Unfortunately, the People’s Advocate complained and came to the conclusion that a GEO would be unconstitutional and these days in Parliament we are trying to regulate the imposition of this vaccination certificate in public institutions, especially in institutions where people are paid to take care of other people.”
