Tricolorii win over Armenia reinvigorates hopes for Qatar 2022

Romania’s national men’s football team beat Armenia 1-0 on Monday evening. Alexandru Mitriță, attacking midfielder (PAOK) scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute in the National Arena. The tricolorii climbed to second place in Group J in the qualification run for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, behind Germany, which has already obtained tickets for Qatar. Romania’s final two games are against Iceland (November 11) and Liechtenstein (November 14). Should they win both matches, qualification is within reach.
