Yesterday, Friday, January 21, 19,649 new corona infections were recorded — almost 10,000 more than last Friday (January 14: 9,884) and the highest number since the start of the pandemic. There are currently 564 corona patients hospitalised in ICUs.

“Vaccination remains the solution to avoid serious illness, entering the ICU ward, hospitalisation and especially death”, said Raed Arafat, Head of the Emergency Department (DCU) on Thursday. Daily vaccination rates averaged around 16,000 only this week.
