The Ciucă government today approved the state budget and the social insurance budget for 2022. Parliament is scheduled to vote on the budget on Thursday, reported Agerpres.
At the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă said the budget will be “balanced, responsible and realistic, able to meet the imperative needs of financing and strengthen the economy in the medium and long term,” reported Euractiv. He added that it aims at “a better life for the citizens of Romania”.
The 2022 budget includes less money for the Ministry of Energy (-7.9%), the Ministry of Finance (-16%), the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism (-44%), the Ministry of Justice (-8%), the Ministry of Development (-21.6%), the Prosecution (-18.7%), the Ministry of Health (-0.1%), ANI (-6.9%) and the Permanent Electoral Authority (-36.6%). The Chamber of Deputies, the General Secretariat of the Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are among the institutions with a larger budget.
