The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) is challenging the extension of the state of alert in court. It also and requests the partial annulment of the CNSU Decision no. 113/2021 on establishing the rules for applying quarantine measures on persons arriving in Romania.

“AUR points out that, in the new epidemiological conditions, the Romanian government and CNSU continue to impose measures that infringe on fundamental human rights and freedoms and are not proportionate and necessary in order to stop the spread of COVID”, AUR said in a press statement today.

AUR co-chair George Simion said that although the quarantine measure has been declared unconstitutional, CNSU (National Committee for Emergency Situations) continues to order such measures thus “unjustifiably” violating the freedom of movement of citizens, reported Agerpres.
