Ludovic Orban resigned today from the PNL’s parliamentary group. He made the announcement in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies this morning, Euractiv reports.
“I asked for the floor to inform the plenary that starting today I disaffiliated myself, I withdrew from the PNL parliamentary group and I will continue my activity as an unaffiliated parliamentarian. The main reason for my decision is related to what we parliamentarians represent Romanians”, said Orban.
He hopes the “breakup” will be temporary.
On October 21, Ludovic Orban declared on B1 TV that he would resign from the PNL parliamentary group this week and that he would not vote for a government headed by PM-designate Nicolae Ciucă.
“I believe that politicians must be loyal to the citizen who entrusts him with his vote. For me, Iohannis and the illegitimate leadership, the demolition gang, have seriously betrayed the interests of the citizens.”
