After a meeting with government officials on managing the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, President Klaus Iohannis said that vaccination is the only solution to halt the pandemic, insisting on the need for restrictions that will take effect next Monday.
“Romania is going through a national drama of terrible proportions”, the President said. He announced that traffic will be restricted at night, for those who are not vaccinated and as of Monday all students will have two weeks off, Spotmedia reported. Masks will become mandatory both indoors and outdoors and presentation of green certificate necessary in most daily activities. The head of state insisted the government must make a decision no later than Friday.
“Dear Romanians, if you want to end this pandemic, get vaccinated, if you don’t want to end up in hospital or intensive care, get vaccinated”, Iohannis said.
