The ministers proposed by prime minister-designate Dacian Cioloş (USR) will be heard in specialised parliamentary commissions on Tuesday, October 19. Parliament will hold a plenary vote on his cabinet on Wednesday, reported Spotmedia.

This was decided by permanent bureaus of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies today. The plenary in which the vote for the entire government will be given will take place at 10.00 on Wednesday.

Earlier today, Dacian Cioloș submitted the list of the USR minority cabinet and governing programme to Parliament. The new cabinet includes six ministers who were also part of the Cîţu government, including Stelian Ion, whose dismissal triggered the current political crisis.

Cioloș reiterated that he is focused on the three urgent issues: the health crisis, the energy price crisis and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). He said that although the measures included in the programme are harsh, they are necessary for the exceptional situation in which we find ourselves.

Cioloș also said that the solution proposed by USR is the best for everyone — from a political, economic and social point of view. He hopes parliamentarians will vote for his government. If not, Cioloș believes that people will take to the streets because politicians do not agree to solve their problems.
