Despite high infection rates in main urban areas, schools continue face-to-face classes. Today the Federation of Parents’ Associations demanded from the ministers of Education and Health that schools should be allowed to offer education online at the threshold of six per thousand, reports Edupedu.

There may be another good reason to keep children home: over 57% of schools in Romania exceed the new norms of air pollution with fine particles, according to a new report by the air quality monitoring company Airlyreports Agerpres.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent quarantine, in 2020 traffic congestion decreased significantly throughout Europe, including Romania (especially in Bucharest). However, in September 2020, traffic began to reach pre-corona levels in all European cities. This phenomenon is strictly related to the reopening of schools, according to Airly.
