Under its under recovery and resilience plan (PNRR), Romania has committed to gradually shut down its entire 4.59GW coal-fired power plants by the end of 2032. Most of the capacity (3.78GW) will be closed by the end of 2023, reports Economica. As part of the pledge, a total capacity of nearly 1.70GW will be shut down this year. Nuclear energy will provide 66% of total carbon-free energy produced in Romania, the Director of Nuclearelectrica, Cosmin Ghiță, told Digi24.

Minister of Environment, Tanczos Barna, announced that electric cars will get green registration numbers, which will give access to parking and other benefits, writes Green Report.
